“Learning is the discovery that something is possible.”
--Fritz Perls
Patwin Elementary School
We start the 2010-2011 school year believing that anything is
possible. It is our belief that all students will learn and experience
the success that they deserve. The momentum we have created together
will give us the skill to meet any challenge and exceed our
expectations.
While our staff has changed some this year, the team isamazingly strong and committed to challenging and nurturing all students. As most of you know, we had six Patwin teachers retire last year. While we are excited for them, the school will miss them dearly. With this change, we have the opportunity to introduce our newest team members. First, we are very excited to welcome Julie Webb as our new Reading Specialist. She comes to Patwin with a wealth of experience and knowledge. We would also like to welcome Amy Irvine as our new fifth grade teacher. She will again be working with Kate Bowen and Sarb Nahal. This will be a team to be reckoned with. Many of you might remember Kellie Sequeira and the amazing contributions she made to Patwin the year before last. We are very proud to welcome her back to Patwin. Ms. Sequeira will be working with Sharon Ponciano to comprise our stellar fourth grade team. Erin Sander will be our new school psychologist and Stacey Cames will join us as our new speech therapist. You will also see a newface in the front office. Pat Johnson will join our amazing team! On the Academic front, we are proud to continue our Language Arts block and plan to add the Math block for all students. Our STAR scores indicate that we are moving in the right direction. We have much to celebrate again this year! CDC and ACCESS will continue to offer their same services. Please visit their websites for more information. KidzArt will also be here after school to offer classes.
Hopefully, I have proven to you all that I value frequent, honest,
and respectful communication. I invite you to share ideas with me
directly or put your thoughts into the parent feedback box located in
the main office. I also encourage you all to access our improved
website and to sign up for the informative PTA newsletters in addition
to reading your student’s class newsletters. You can expect a Patwin
Press from me at both parent conferences. All of these options will
help you stay in touch with important school information,
accomplishments, dates, and details.
Here are some important dates to put on your calendar…
