First of all, let us say: Thank you. Thank you for tirelessly supporting your child at Patwin Elementary. Through parent-teacher meetings, school sports, after-school activities, and everything else that happens during the course of a school year, you have shown your commitment to giving your child the best possible education. It is partly because of the busy lives we all lead that we are writing.

As you know, the Patwin PTA holds our annual “Unfundraiser” in the first part of the school year to pay for things that are not fully covered by the school budget.  With our “Unfundraiser”, your kids don’t have to sell anything, parents don’t have to buy anything and 100% of your donation goes directly to classroom and school needs.

This year our goal is to raise $10,000 so that we can continue to offer the wonderful programs and environment that make Patwin the highly respected school that it is.  We wish we could tell you that we are raising money for a new program or a special event, but the reality is that we are raising money to simply fund the necessities lacking due to budget cuts such as

Ø     technology carts which include an LCD projector, wireless keyboard, speakers and cart  (~$1800)

Ø     replacement LCD projector bulbs for the LDC projectors we currently have (~$200)

Ø     document cameras and printers for classroom use

Ø     outdoor education scholarships to Malakoff Diggins (4^th grade) and Walker Creek   (6^th grade)

Ø     science enrichments

Ø     classroom supplies

Ø     the Bravo music program

Ø     and tech support to maintain the technology that we currently have.

This year, we have decided to ask each family for a $50 contribution to help make up for state budget shortfalls.  “Many hands make light work,” so the saying goes.  Although we are asking for $50 per family, we invite you to give whatever you can - no amount is too small.  If you are able to make a larger donation, please consider doing so, as not every family will be able to contribute. Just complete the attached form and send with your donation by October 29^th – that’s it!
