The First Annual Cake Walk @ the Patwin Walkathon Starts at 10am on Saturday, March 28th, 2009 at the Walkathon.

What is the Cake Walk?

A fun way to support your teachers’ classroom funds. 100% of the money raised from the ticket sales will go straight to the teachers – just like the old cupcake sales!

How will it work?

When you need a break from walking your laps, look for the signs to the Cake Walk:

Purchase your Cake Walk tickets at the Cake Walk table

$1 per ticket, or $3 for 5 tickets

Get in line and get ready for the fun!

You’ll see 20 numbered chairs arranged together – 20 people walk at a time!

When the music starts, everybody walks. When the music stops, find a chair.

Cake Walk leaders will pick a number out of a hat - if they call the number on your chair, you win a cake!

You will receive a "cake claim ticket" to pick up your winning cake from a nearby classroom.

You can walk as many times as you buy a ticket! But, you will need to get back in line after you’ve used a ticket, to redeem another one. We want to make sure everyone gets the chance to "cake walk"!

Bake a Cake for the Cake Walk!

We will need LOTS of cakes for this fun event! The more cakes we have, the greater the chance for you to win one!

The classroom that brings in the most cake, will win a cake surprise during school. Also, individual bakers can also earn awards for the following categories:

• "The Purplest" cake – with the most Patwin school spirit!
• Most beautiful/elegant
• Most creative
• Craziest cake
• Most colorful
• Most interesting shaped cake
• "Looks like a star" cake

Cakes can be delivered to school (in the MPR) at the following times:

Friday, March 27th, from 8am - 8:45am (drop-off)

Friday, March 27th, from 2:15pm – 3:30pm (pick-up)

Saturday, March 28th, before 9am (at the Cake Walk area)

** Please make sure your cakes are wrapped/sealed for overnight storage (we want to avoid ants!)
