Azevedo Named New Patwin Principal
Michell Azevado, currently a vice principal at Davis Senior High, has been named to be our new principal.
Dear Patwin Families,
I am more than thrilled about joining the Patwin community. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all. Here is a little bit about me. I grew up in Davis and graduated from Davis High School in 1988. After studying and playing basketball at Chico State, I earned my teaching credential at CSU, Sacramento. I then had the privilege of teaching 8th grade History for seven years in Tracy. In 2000, I moved back to the area, earning my Administrative Services Credential from CSU, Sacramento and was the Vice Principal of Douglass Middle School in Woodland for five years. It was during this time that I earned my most important role as a mother to two children. Emily will be attending Kindergarten at Patwin in the fall and Evan is in pre-school but will be joining us in no time. After staying home for two years with my young children, I returned to the classroom. I started working part time at DaVinci High School in 2007 as the Academic Coach, Yearbook Advisor, Peer Helper Advisor, and Community Service Teacher. I was the Vice Principal of the DJUSD summer school program last summer and will be the Principal this summer. Starting in February, I became one of three Vice Principals at Davis High School.
I am beyond excited to have landed at Patwin Elementary. I have known for years that this is a fantastic school, made up of amazing students, families, and staff. In fact, my family chose to purchase a house in West Davis so that our children could attend Patwin. I look forward to helping provide a nurturing and challenging learning environment for every child at Patwin Elementary.
Thank you so much for this opportunity!
